Some times, I am trying to think about what kinds of language in the advertising is right, or positive. In fact, I really do not know how to judge a language of advertising is good or not. The reason is I think each person has their own opinion for the language.
I read a article some days before when I was doing my paper, and it talked about a language of advertising in the Nike's ads.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/30/sports/basketball/30nike.html“I’ll do whatever it takes to win games,” Bryant is portrayed as saying. “I don’t leave anything in the chamber.” This is Kobe said in the ad, and I really do not think this is a negative language, I think it give me a feeling that I should fight for my life, and I should work hard in my life. However, this article did not agree with my idea, and it is said that the language is not positive. I think this should have some different opinions for the different people. Maybe they think this will lead the young people to do something illegally. I have no idea that if someone would like to agree with my idea, but I think if it is possible we should make a rule to limit the language of the advertising, and I think it will help us to avoid the get the same problem in the future.
Well, also the Dr. pepper Ten's ad: it is not for women.
I have on idea about this what do women think, but I think this is not good for the image of the brand.
I think this is same as a sentence: War makes the women away. But we cannot negative the effect of women bring to us during the war. This ad should to explain why they think it is not for women.
PS. I found this website about the language of advertising
http://www.stanford.edu/class/linguist34/
It is talk about something about the language of the advertising.
